Dylan advanced to Webelos last week. I'm so glad he still likes Cub Scouts. And now things will start to get even more involved, with fun stuff like archery and overnight camping.
Brad passed the big 4-0 yesterday with nary a hitch. Rift happened to be playing at the Broken Oar, so we invited everyone out there for tons of well-wishing and a bit of beer-swilling. The dance floor was packed and a good time was had by all.
We took the plunge and bought a trampoline this weekend!
Unpacking the (very heavy) boxes
Assembling the frame
Practicing jumping
Hanging the safety net
Flip!
Brad and I always loved jumping on a tramp when we were kids, and the boys are just the right age to enjoy it for a long time. I got in some jump-time over the weekend, and it's great exercise. We had concerns about the slight incline of the yard, but it actually adds a different element of fun.
Polina Semionova is a superstar in the world of classical ballet. I had never heard of her when I came across this mesmerizing music video for a song by German musician Herbert Gronemeyer.
She is amazing! Her extensions are incredible, and she conveys such emotion in her movement.
In Connor's kindergarten class, each child gets the chance to be the Star Student of the Week. During the week, the Star Student's parents can read a favorite book, or share a special talent, or participate in any way they can.
During Connor's week, Brad brought his big djembe to demonstrate, and each kid got the chance to play. Cool!
Sunday's forecast called for 4-6 inches of snow. Not only did the snowstorm not materialize, but it turned out to be a beautiful day. The boys played bubbles outside, which had a wonderfully innocent appeal.
We could have used the snow because every footfall in the yard stirred up dust.
Interesting how 50 degrees feels much warmer in the spring than in the fall.
